Pneumodart Decompression Needle

The PneumoDart Decompression Needle provides a safe solution for the treatment of tension pneumothorax.

Development was prompted by the Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) committee and conducted in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense. The PneumoDart has been extensively tested and evaluated.

Unlike the ARS and TPAK needle, the PneumoDart Decompression Needle is a rigid needle that cannot kink. The safety mechanism prevents organs from being punctured.

The safety tip at the end of the needle is pressed into the needle by a spring as it passes through the chest wall. As soon as the needle enters the thoracic cavity, the safety tip ejects with an audible "click". The blue indicator shows the caregiver whether the needle is correctly inserted. The safety needle prevents vital organs from being punctured.

The one-way valve allows air to escape from the chest cavity and prevents air from entering.
